VEGETABLES IN FLATS AND POTS
There’s nothing quite as rewarding as vegetables from your very own garden. Of course you’ve got the freshness factor but there’s more to it. It’s the pride of surviving the war against Nature. Birds, bugs, rabbits, diseases, raccoons, groundhogs, weeds…they all want a piece of the action. And then there’s the weather. Man, it’s a wonder anybody gets any harvest at all, and yet, year after year, you guys keep coming back, geared for battle all over again. We are proud to support you brave warriors with the best varieties available, old and new. From listening to your requests, we’ve put together a list that includes almost everybody’s favorites. This is a pretty tough task when you consider that, in all of our seed catalogs, we counted over 400 varieties of tomatoes alone. This year on August 24th, we are planning the second annual Veggie Fest. Like last year, we'll grow one plant each of all of our tomatoes and peppers for customer taste-testing. In addition, the Science Department here at Baker’s Acres, with the use of the Tomato Catapult, will be carefully rating each tomato variety in the important categories of aerodynamics, G-force resistance, and splat factor.
